drying & firing

The bricks are carefully dried for 2 days to ensure they do not crack in the
firing process. State of the art technology enables us to draw waste heat from
the kilns and also use computer set drying programs. The bricks are fired to
temperatures up to 1045 degrees centigrade. Our state of the art kilns allow
us to fire the bricks to specifically designed programmes to vary colour and
modify the firing cycle for non standard size products. The bricks are hand set
which enables us to set the bricks in different ways in order to ensure the bricks
emerge with the character and variation that makes our products distinctive.
