The York Handmade Brick Company’s famous Terracotta Floor tiles are to have a
starring role in one of Yorkshire Television’s most popular series.
The tiles have just
been laid at The Postgate Inn at Egton Bridge, deep in the NorthYorkshire Moors,
which doubles as the Black Dog Inn in YTV’s Heartbeat.

The Postgate Inn, owned by Punch Taverns, was recently refurbished and 50 square metres of the award-winning, Alne-based company’s 300 x 300mm Terracotta Floor tiles were used.

“They look absolutely wonderful,” said landlord Mark Powell. “Although they are brand-new, they look as though they have
been here for years. It is a truly authentic look which, of course, is perfect for Heartbeat.”The £2,000 worth of tiles were laid
by GF Attridge Builders of Sneaton, near Whitby.

David Armitage, the chairman of York Handmade, commented: “ We are delighted that such a good example of our work is
set to appear on primetime television. The Postgate Inn is a friendly, old-fashioned and welcoming country inn and our tiles
look very home at home there. I will be watching Heartbeat with keen interest in the coming months.”
