MEET THE BOSS: GUY ARMITAGE YORK HANDMADE BRICK
Guy Armitage became the managing director of the award-winning York Handmade Brick Company, based at Alne, near Easingwold, last year. Guy, aged 40, is the sixth generation of the Armitage family to work in the brick industry, a record which dates back to 1824. He takes over as managing director from his father David, who remains chairman of York Handmade.

As this is our 25th Anniversary year, we thought we would celebrate with a little history of our life and times at Alne since 1988.
It was then that the capital of the York Handmade Brick Company (previously the Alne Brick Co.) was acquired by David Armitage and Tim Bristow. A few years later David Armitage became the sole owner of York Handmade and was later joined by his son Guy who is now a Director of the company.
